2011 Mazda 2

2011 Mazda 2 Reviews
Now you can add the 2011 Mazda 2 to that list of price-conscious hatchbacks. On the plus side, the Mazda 2 is quite sporty to drive, and indeed this is one area where Mazda is quite proud of its new entry-level car. The list of standard and available features for the Mazda is quite short, too.

The 2011 Mazda 2 is a five-passenger, four-door subcompact hatchback that is available in two trim levels -- Sport and Touring. The Sport comes standard with 15-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, air-conditioning, full power accessories, a tilt steering wheel and a four-speaker CD/MP3 audio system with an auxiliary input jack.

The EPA estimates fuel economy at 28 mpg city/35 mpg highway for the manual transmission and 27/33 mpg for the automatic.
Standard safety features for the 2011 Mazda 2 include antilock brakes (discs in front/drums in rear), front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and stability and traction control.

The 2011 Mazda 2's interior is comparable to other hatchbacks in this economical price range. With those rear seats in place, cargo capacity is 13.3 cubic feet, which is small for a hatchback.
Among the most hotly anticipated (at least among Car and Driver staffers) is the 2011 Mazda 2, Mazda’s first America-bound B-segment vehicle since the 323 and arguably the best such car Mazda has ever built.

Unavailable, for example, even on Touring models, are a telescoping steering wheel, a sunroof, integrated navigation (a portable Garmin system will be available from dealers), a USB port, and a hands-free Bluetooth system. Ditto the front-disc, rear-drum brakes. Meanwhile, fuel economy is good if not worldbeating, at 29 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway for the five-speed manual and 27/33 for the four-speed automatic.
The Mazda2 press junket was shaping up to be one of those trips. Old-tech 4-speed automatic.

Mazda's stylists applied scaled-down versions of their latest styling cues -- the big smiling grille (link goes to photo), the strong front fender line, the trapezoidal rear window -- and while those same details stick out like sore thumbs on the bigger Mazda3, they somehow manage to blend right in on the little Mazda2.

At the front of the room, the Mazda staffers were talking about the virtues of the new Mazda2: refinement, light weight, price.
I picked a bright-red "Mazda2" Touring with a manual transmission and settled in. I certainly didn't feel like I was sitting in Mazda's cheapest car.

As much as I liked the Mazda2, my heart belongs to the Ford Fiesta. It's great to drive and its high-tech twin-clutch automatic delivers better fuel economy than the Mazda2, plus it offers features that the Mazda doesn't such as leather seats and iPod integration. Still, the Fiesta lacks the Mazda's quiet engine and smooth ride -- not to mention its proven Japanese build quality.
The car that poses the biggest challenge to the Mazda2 might well be the Nissan Versa, which has a roomy, well-trimmed cabin and a very attractive price tag but lacks the Mazda's good looks. Considering what the competition offers, I think the Mazda's mix of attributes will serve it well.

2011 Volvo S80

2011 Volvo S80 Review

New for 2011 the engines receive horsepower increases, the 3.2 liter engine to 240-hp, and the turbocharged 3.0 liter to 300-hp. The front-wheel drive S80 is available with a 240-hp 3.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine or a 230-hp 3.2-liter PZEV engine. Safety features include ABS, traction control, stability control, and six airbags.

Unlike most luxury large cars, the Volvo S80 seems to be engineered to fly under the radar. Safety and price. The 2011 Volvo S80 is an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) “Top Safety Pick,” which means it boasts excellent crash test scores and standard safety features. If you value your budget and your safety above plush interiors and back-road performance, most car reviewers say that the S80 should work for you.

The 2011 Infiniti M is also an IIHS “Top Safety Pick,” which should reassure buyers looking for a safe large luxury car--For 2011, Volvo has updated the S80’s engine lineup.

The exterior design is traditional Volvo. Fuel Economy is fine. This car is 90% Mercedes at 80% of the price. I recommend this car to anyone looking for understated luxury and high quality.

Volvo S60 R-Design

Introducing the all-new S60 R-Design — designed with true sports-car feel and featuring a specially developed chassis to ensure that the driving experience matches the car’s appearance.
With R-Design it becomes even sharper. They’re the natural choice for true connoisseurs,” said Paul Welander, Senior Vice President Product Development at Volvo Cars.

Sporty, sportier, sportiest — in order to keep the superlatives in check Volvo Cars has taken an holistic view of the all-new S60 R-Design, with the design and chassis being developed in parallel into a single cohesive offer.

Distinctive twin exhaust tailpipes and unique five-spoke 18-inch Diamond cut wheels emphasize the sporty overall appeal.
The Volvo S60 saloon has been winning Volvo praise thanks to its good looks, comfort and enjoyable handling. Now Volvo has added its R-Design package to the range, and we’ve tested it.
The chassis has been comprehensively honed to improve the precision of each wheel’s movements--Inside there’s a three-spoke steering wheel, blue instrument dials, sports gear knob and bucket seats with increased side support to further hold occupants in place.

It’s not as involving as the lively rear-wheel drive BMW 3 Series coupe, but on a par with the front or four-wheel drive Audi A5.
Actually it's a more advanced form of an existing Volvo active safety system called City Safety, which automatically stops a Volvo if another vehicle gets in its way.
It's a radar-and camera-based system that can detect pedestrians in front of the car.

In a nutshell, it gives a warning signal if someone walks into its detection field and automatically activates the car's full braking power if the driver fails to respond in time.

Half of all pedestrian accidents occur at speeds below 25 km/h. Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake can avoid a collision with a pedestrian at speeds up to 35 km/h, even if the driver is distracted and does not react in time. At higher speeds, the focus is on warning and reducing the car's speed as much as possible prior to the impact.

The all-wheel-drive technology now includes a torque-vectoring feature, which can increase torque to the outside wheel and help steer the car around a turn with more stability.

SAFETY
In addition to the Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake system, the S60 offers a selection of other advanced active safety features. n Lane Departure Warning is a system that alerts the driver if the vehicle is drifting into another lane. THE DRIVE
We drove like normal and it was almost completely uneventful other than some minor warning light episodes -- people walking in front while stopped (in drive).

Even with its battery of safety systems, the S60 is probably the sportiest Volvo sedan we've driven. Overall it's a nicely balanced car with a first-class engine.

Fiat Freemont at the Geneva Motor Show go on sale

Features of Fiat Freemont both exterior or interior has mode it the most desirable car at present--Fiat Freemount has a muscular exterior styling and a strong front end.

Some other features of Fiat Freemont are fog lights, a keyless entry system, touch screen radio, bluetooth, DVD reader and most important and unique feature is parking sensors. It also comes with a triple-zone climate control system, roof rails and automatic headlamps and tire pressure monitoring system.

Fiat Freemont is a true reflection of successful partnership between Fiat and Chrysler.
Fiat has recently announced the showcase of the Fiat Freemont at the Geneva Motor Show and is expected to go on sale by mid 2011 in Europe. Fiat had revealed that they will be renaming the Dodge Challenger for Europe into Fiat Freemont, a result that came up after the company decided to turn the Dodge Journey into a Fiat. This model is set to replace the Fiat Ulysee MPV.

One vehicle to be designed and produced in Mexico, alongside the" Fiat Freemont", is the Fiat 500 for North America. Eventually the Fiat Freemont will be offered in an all-wheel drive model along with either an automatic transmission 3.6 liter gasoline engine or an automatic transmission 170 horsepower turbo diesel engine. The interiors

The Fiat Freemont interiors will include superior quality materials including soft-touch plastics and state of the art features. The touch screen radio will have easy touch controls and colored screen.
The release of the new Freemont is a reflection of the growing partnership between Fiat and Chrysler.

The vehicle combines flexibility and practicality with its own distinctive and original style. The Fiat Freemont guarantees maximum roominess, comfort and versatility due to its 7 standard seats with a genuine third row of roomy seats that is easily accessible because the doors open to 90°. Both outfits will offer 7 seats, triple-zone automatic climate control system, keyless entry system, cruise control, advanced trip computer, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), fog lights and touchscreen radio with colour screen and controls on the steering wheel. The more metropolitan version will include 17” alloys, touchscreen radio with 8.4” screen, SD card and DVD reader, Bluetooth system, rear parking sensors, fold-down door mirrors, automatic headlight activation, darkened rear windows and roof bars.

The Freemont will have front wheel drive with turbo diesel power units (140 HP or 170 HP 2.0 MultiJet) combined with a manual gearbox. With the exception of the powerful 3.6 litre unit from the Chrysler Group Pentastar family and its automatic transmission, all power units are produced and developed by FPT- Fiat PowerTrain.
Driving comfort is further guaranteed by significant improvements to passenger compartment soundproofing.

ford fiesta 2011 Reviews

Now, it's responding to steady sales of the Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit, and Nissan Versa by bringing us an adapted version of the well-received and very successful European 2011 Ford Fiesta.
The Fiesta just might woo you fickle Gen Z-ers with some exclusive stuff inside, like the SYNC media controller, premium audio systems, and nifty leather seats.

The Fiesta debuted in 2010, and this year, the Fiesta gets even more accolades: We named it the 2011 Best Subcompact Car for the Money.

With the 2011 Ford Fiesta, that's changed. With the Fiesta, many reviewers say Ford may radically alter what American buyers expect from small cars. The Fiesta has features rarely seen among Small/Subcompact Cars, from available heated seats to Ford's SYNC system to an airbag for the driver's knees.
Reviewers have been enjoying well-optioned higher trims. The Mini Cooper comes close to the Fiesta's fuel economy ratings, but costs about $5,000 more than the base Fiesta. However, if you're considering a well-optioned Fiesta (higher Fiesta trims start only about $1,000 below the Mini's base price), the Mini's BMW-sourced driving dynamics may make it worth looking at.
The 2011 Ford Fiesta is an all-new subcompact available in hatchback and sedan body styles.

Unlike much of its competition, the Ford Fiesta is available in both sedan and hatchback body styles. There are some distinctive Fiesta alternatives in this competitive segment. The Fiesta sedan, meanwhile, has a bit less rear seat room than the Chevy Aveo, Hyundai Accent and Nissan Versa.

The "2011 Ford Fiesta" comes with four doors in both sedan and hatchback form. There are three trim levels for the sedan (S, SE, and SEL) and two trims for the hatchback (SE and SES).
The SEL sedan adds LED parking lights, a rear spoiler, 16-inch "premium painted" wheels, a premium sound system (with satellite radio and six speakers), ambient lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and the Sync multimedia voice-command system which now also offers turn-by-turn navigation.
The SE hatchback is equipped similarly to the SE sedan but adds a rear spoiler and wiper. All 2011 Ford Fiestas are powered by a 1.6-liter inline-4 that generates 120 horsepower and 112 pound-feet of torque. Disappointingly, there is no manual-shift feature.

Ford estimates the Fiesta's fuel economy at 30 mpg city/40 mpg highway for the automatic and 29/38 for the manual.
Standard safety features include stability and traction control, antilock disc brakes, front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags. In Edmunds brake testing, a Fiesta stopped from 60 mph in a respectable 119 feet.

With its soft-touch dash top, metallic accents, edgy styling and tight build quality, the Fiesta's cabin has a premium vibe to it that's unexpected in an economy car. Ford's Sync system (standard in top trims) allows voice control over the audio system and your cell phone, and it also provides features such as voice-prompted turn-by-turn navigation (it works respectably well) and emergency assist. At 12.8 cubic feet, the sedan's trunk capacity is class-competitive. The Fiesta hatchback offers a bit less than that with its rear seat up. Unfortunately, the seats don't fold completely flat, and the Fiesta's 26 cubes of maximum cargo capacity pale in comparison to the Honda Fit's 57 cubes and the Kia Soul's 53 cubes.

We can say without hesitation that the 2011 Ford Fiesta provides the most rewarding drive in its class. The available six-speed automated dual-clutch automatic is another unusual perk in this class.

2011 Toyota Corolla

2011 Toyota Corolla Review
The Toyota Corolla is the world's best-selling car of all time. Today the Corolla faces even stiffer competition. The 2011 Toyota Corolla is a five-passenger compact sedan available in base, LE and S trim levels.

Every 2011 Toyota Corolla is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-4 that produces 132 horsepower and 128 pound-feet of torque. Every "Toyota Corolla "comes standard with stability and traction control, antilock brakes with brake assist (front disc, rear drum), front side airbags and side curtain airbags. In Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash testing, the Corolla earned a perfect "Good" rating in the frontal-offset, side and roof strength tests.
In a class filled with cars that offer quality, reliability, comfort, good fuel economy and affordability, the 2011 Toyota Corolla is merely adequate.

The 2011 Toyota Corolla is struggling to compete against reliable cars that offer competitive packages that include affordability, top performance and quality cabins. The 2009 and 2010 Toyota Corolla were recalled because of faulty brakes and accelerator pedals.

The 2011 Toyota Corolla gets revised styling but a diminished model lineup as part of a midcycle course correction. Heavy factory incentives are helping Corolla stay neck-and-neck with the Honda Civic atop compact-car sales. Should you buy a 2011 Toyota Corolla or wait for the 2012 Toyota Corolla? Styling: Subtle revisions to the nose and tail strengthen the 2012 Toyota Corolla’s family resemblance to the larger, midsize Toyota Camry. The 2011 revisions do, however, suggest Toyota has a more realistic vision of Corolla’s mission. The 2011 Toyota Corolla lineup again begins with the entry-level Base version and returns better-outfitted LE and S models. The smartest buy should continue to be the 2011 Toyota Corolla LE, which justifiably has accounted for more than half of Corolla sales. Both models continue with 15-inch steel wheels, though their wheel-cover design is new for model-year 2011.

Keeping alive the sporty styling spirit of the departed Corolla XRS, the 2011 Corolla S gains fancy multi-reflector headlamps, front and rear spoilers, lower-body aero trim, and a chrome-tipped exhaust. The 2011 Corolla S model also gets a sportier new steering wheel with metallic accents and audio controls.

Mechanical: All 2011 Toyota Corollas come with updates to software and hardware associated with Toyota’s response to the sudden-acceleration recalls. Similarly, the 2011 Corolla continues to bundle a suite of safety features under Toyota’s Star Safety System label. Unfortunately, the demise of the XRS model with its four-wheel disc brakes means all 2011 Corollas retain the lesser front-disc/rear-drum brake setup.

A five-speed manual transmission remains standard on Corolla Base and S models; top rivals furnish six-speed manuals. An automatic transmission is standard on the Corolla LE and optional on the Base and S models, but it has just four speeds. The late Corolla XRS at least offered a five-speed automatic.

The 2011 Toyota Corolla experiences a minor features revival as part of its midcycle facelift. From the XLE’s standard equipment list the 2011 Corolla LE inherits variable intermittent wipers. The moonroof remains an S-model option. However, the navigation system and leather upholstery previously optional on the Corolla S and XRS models are no longer available.
Historically, Corolla’s base prices were justified by strong demand and made palatable by high resale values. A rough estimate would give the 2011 Toyota Corolla a base-price range of $16,200-$18,500. Look for the 2011 Toyota Corolla Base model to start around $16,200 with manual transmission, around $17,000 with automatic. Estimated base price for the 2011 Corolla LE model is about $17,600.

The 2011 Corolla S versions should start around $17,300 with manual transmission, $18,200 with automatic.

2011 Hyundai Veracruz

2011 Hyundai Veracruz Review
If you’re on a budget, but need seats for seven, the Hyundai Veracruz may be what you’re looking for. With a starting price of just over $28,000, the 2011 Hyundai Veracruz is expensive for a Hyundai. While the 2011 Hyundai Veracruz has a lot going for it, it isn’t perfect. Most car reviewers complain about numb steering and performance that prioritizes comfort over sharp handling. Both have three available rows of seating. The Highlander gets much better fuel economy than the Veracruz does and has a lower starting price.

The 2011 Hyundai Veracruz is available in just two trims, the base GLS and Limited, in either front- or all-wheel drive. The Hyundai Veracruz seats seven in three rows of seats and is available with front- or all-wheel drive. The 2011 Hyundai Veracruz isn’t much different from the 2010 model.

2011 Hyundai Veracruz is available in two trim levels which include GLS and Limited trims. Hyundai Veracruz Limited trim includes some additional features like 18 inch wheels, leather upholstery, driver memory function, tilt and telescopic power steering column, 115 V power outlet, four way power passenger seat, Infinity audio system with eight speakers and six CD chargers. 2011 Hyundai Veracruz can be equipped with either front wheel drive or all wheel drive.

2011 Hyundai Veracruz is offered with world class interior accessories. This sedan contains one of the finest interior. This sedan’s interior space is much smaller than Ford Flex, Chevrolet Traverse and Mazda CX-9. 2011 Hyundai Veracruz is a luxury sedan armored with standard safety accessories; these accessories provide optimum safety to all its occupants. Some of the safety accessories offered with this sedan are antilock disc brakes, traction control, front seat side airbags, stability control, active front restraints, full length side airbags and front seat side airbags.

The 2011 Hyundai Veracruz is unchanged from the 2010 model, save for some package and option updates. Also, a factory-installed rear-seat DVD entertainment system is no longer available on the Veracruz.

The 2011 Hyundai Veracruz steps into the ring armed with attributes more commonly associated with entry-level luxury models than a model built to a price point. The deal is further sweetened by the Veracruz's long warranty and lengthy list of standard features.

The 2011 Hyundai Veracruz is a seven-passenger crossover SUV available in GLS and Limited trim levels. The Premium package adds a sunroof, auto-dimming mirrors, a windshield de-icer, a power liftgate and heated front seats (for the front-wheel-drive model).

Each Veracruz trim level comes standard with antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints.

The 2011 Hyundai Veracruz is a serene boulevard and highway cruiser. Overall, the Veracruz drives adequately but does little to leave any lasting impressions.

2012 Dodge Challenger Preview

2012 Dodge Challenger – Mopar fans will be very happy with the current plan for 2012 Dodge Challenger, but that may or not be changed in line with management-new FIAT infused see fit.
2012DodgeChallengerDebut

A debut at the Detroit Auto Show 2011 is almost given, especially considering the small lineup otherwise brand new vehicle to debut on the U.S. coast.

The 2012 Dodge Challenger will be one awesome muscle car! Maybe some "2012 Dodge Challenger" concept videos and pictures! When the new 2012 Dodge Challenger does come out, I will feature tons of videos and images of the 2012 Dodge Challenger!

Current plans include minor tweaks to the sheet metal, a emblem-less nose, and brand new engines for entry-level and high-end models. All models are expected to hit the streets in late 2011, though the SRT8 refresh might be delayed a little longer as its proposed motor may be scrapped and replaced by a Pentastar-based motor instead.

The focus of the debuts in the U.S. auto show circuit are going to focus heavily around the new Pentastar-series motors.
Unfortunately, Ford has proven that direct-injection V6s can sell muscle cars with their latest Mustang and even Chevrolet is selling a great number of fast V6-powered Camaros. With government regulators breathing down Detroit’s neck and customers clamoring for lighter vehicles with more power, the days of the HEMI may be numbered, even when it comes to the 2012 Dodge Challenger.

2012 Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca Wins

2012 Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca

Barrett-Jackson says it helped raise nearly $4 million for 20 local and national charitable causes during the 40th Annual Scottsdale Auction over the weekend.

2011 Cadilac SRX Reviews

The 2011 Cadillac SRX enters the market without any major change in the market.
The 2011 Cadillac SRX comes in a single body style of a compact luxury crossover SUV and is obtainable in about six trim levels: Base, Performance, Luxury, Turbo Performance, Turbo Premium and Premium.

The Performance SRX trim brings adaptive suspension dampers, 20-inch wheels, a voice-activated navigation system offering real-time traffic, adaptive xenon headlights, a 10-speaker Bose surround-sound system having USB/iPod interface, foglamps and digital music storage.

The top-shelf Premium SRX trim gets ventilated front seats, tri-zone climate control, rear seat audio controls and heated rear seats. The 2011 Cadillac SRX has a 3.0-liter V6 engine as its standard engine, and gets 265 hp power and 223 pound-feet of torque from it--The 2011 Cadillac SRX gets front seat side airbags, antilock disc brakes, side curtain airbags, traction and stability control and OnStar as its standard safety equipments.
The Cadillac SRX carries over unchanged for 2011--For one, the SRX is fat. While legroom is generous, headroom is notably cramped for even average-height passengers because of the panoramic sunroof that's standard on all but the base SRX. In total, the 2011 Cadillac SRX is an appealing compact luxury crossover as long as you can live with its insufficient performance and compromised backseat. The 2011 "Cadillac SRX" is a compact luxury crossover SUV available in six trim levels: Base, Luxury, Performance, Premium, Turbo Performance and Turbo Premium.

The SRX Luxury adds front and rear parking sensors, power-folding and driver-side-dimming mirrors, automatic wipers, keyless ignition/entry, a power tailgate with adjustable maximum height, a panoramic sunroof, remote engine start, driver memory functions, power-adjustable pedals, heated front seats with eight-way power passenger adjustment, leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a cargo management system, interior accent lighting, wood trim, Bluetooth and a rearview camera.

The top-shelf SRX Premium gains tri-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats and rear seat audio controls--A rear-seat DVD entertainment system with dual seat-mounted screens is optional on all trims but the base SRX.
The 2011 Cadillac SRX comes standard with a 3.0-liter V6 that produces 265 hp and 223 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive optional on all but the base SRX. The 2011 Cadillac SRX comes standard with antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and OnStar. In Edmunds brake testing, an SRX Luxury Collection with 18-inch wheels came to a stop from 60 mph in a longer-than-average 128 feet. An SRX Turbo with 20-inch wheels was essentially no different.

In government crash tests, the SRX scored a perfect five stars in front impact testing for driver protection and side protection. The SRX's interior is its single most appealing aspect--In other respects, the 2011 Cadillac SRX is a commendable luxury crossover.
The 2011 Cadillac SRX ranks 6 out of 8 Luxury Compact SUVs. Reviewers say the 2011 Cadillac SRX is a smooth-riding and stylish crossover that has plenty of amenities to keep buyers happy. Also, the SRX is big for a luxury small SUV. It has a lower starting price than the SRX and has better fuel economy. If you like the SRX’s room, go for the Volvo XC60.

The SRX comes in base, Luxury, Performance and Premium trims with a choice of two V6 engines. The SRX was all-new for 2010.

2011 Honda CR-V

2011 Honda CR-V Review
The 2011 Honda CR-V ranks 5 out of 23 Affordable Compact SUVs. "It's fun, cute and practical, and it's a bargain,” says Cars.com. The 2011 Honda CR-V is a Renaissance man -- or woman -- of the automotive industry. The Honda CR-V’s ability to accomplish so much has made it an award winner. Other affordable small SUVs make up for the 2011 Honda CR-V’s shortcomings. Fuel economy on the Tiguan, however, is low. It only nets 19/26 mpg city/highway, which is pathetic in comparison to the GMC Terrain’s average of 22/32 mpg city/highway. If you want even better fuel economy, try the Ford Escape Hybrid, which gets 34/31 mpg city/highway. For a compact SUV with a more striking appearance, check out the $22,745 Chevrolet Equinox. The 2011 Honda CR-V has three trim options -- the base LX, mid-level EX and luxurious EX-L. Shoppers can choose between front-wheel and all-wheel drive.

The prices for the "2011 Honda CR-V" models will be announced in the middle of this year. Pricing for the base model should start at $22,700 for the vehicles equipped with front-wheel drive. Meanwhile, those with an all-wheel drive system is priced slightly higher at $23,900.

The Honda CR-V charged into the breach back in 1996, showing traditional SUV buyers that a rapier could work as well as a broadsword. When gas prices turned the body-on-frame market topsy-turvy, might didn't necessarily equal right. This supposedly weak little softroader stole the SUV sales crown from atop the Ford Explorer's head where it had sat untouched for 15 years from 1991 through 2006.

But the battlefield has changed and the 2010 Honda CR-V is facing formidable challengers on all sides. Most offer a V6 engine, having grown in size and power to resemble those mid-size SUVs they once displaced. The 2010 model is armed with 14 more horsepower and a long list of standard and optional equipment. So... is the CR-V this segment's once and future king or is time to crown another? This newest CR-V still has the same Outback-aping lower cladding and controversially curved D-pillar in profile, but the rear bumper gets a bit of liposculpturing to differentiate it from the '09.

Our "Polished Metal Metallic" (new for '10) EX-L also sported the new split five spoke (a.k.a. 10-spoke) 17-inch alloy wheels that you'll find on EX and EX-L models. The 2010 Honda CR-V EX-L w/Navi 4WD (an irksome mouthful) is the top-of-the-line model and comes ready for battle with a sunroof, Bluetooth, touch-screen navigation, TPMS, leather, back-up cam and automatic headlights – a first for the Honda CR-V.

That MSRP, we might add, is the highest price you can pay for a CR-V. The electronic "ears" in the Honda system did a great job of listening too, only flubbing our commands once or twice.

It's a big cargo hold, measuring 35.7 cubic feet even before you fold down the rear bench. The stereo sounded great, the navigation system got us where we needed to go without hassle, the climate control system worked perfectly and calls using the Bluetooth system were clear. The CR-V's upgraded 2.4-liter DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder has corralled 14 more horses since last year, with output now rated a more class-worthy 180 horsepower. While the 2010 power boost is much appreciated, this CR-V is definitely not as fast as a RAV-4 or Equinox. Those tires contributed to the noticeable road noise at freeway speeds, but the CR-V's cabin isn't any louder than its competitors.

Times have certainly changed in the SUV world. Our admittedly loaded 2010 Honda CR-V EX-L w/Navi 4WD was priced at a healthy $30,455, but offered more amenities than most shoppers will need. The CR-V's numbers, however, don't make it a standout on paper. Make no mistake though, the 2010 Honda CR-V is no Prince Charming. The extra power, equipment and refinement of the 2010 model should keep it near the top a bit longer.

2011 Chevrolet Cruze Review

The Chevrolet Cruze marks a shift in the thinking of General Motors, Chevrolet's parent company. The Chevy Cruze also stands out for its safety features -- 10 airbags are standard.
The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze is a new model. Check back often for updates on the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze.

The Cruze trim levels I tested at a Washington, D.C., rollout were the 2LT, LTZ and an LTZ with the RS appearance package. Each of the test cars came with leather, a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. Cars.com editor Mike Hanley recently drove prototype Cruzes at GM's proving grounds and reported on the high-mileage Eco model and the six-speed manual transmission.

Sixteen-inch steel wheels are standard on the Cruze LS and 1LT, and the 1LT can upgrade to 16-inch alloys. The LTZ has 18-inch silver alloy rims. In the Cruze, roominess is the word. The Cruze has a comfortable ride, a nice compromise between world-car firmness and the softness of some American-market cars.

The Cruze's drivetrains mark a change in how automakers power their cars, for a couple of reasons. Chevrolet predicts the longest zero-to-60 mph time for the turbo engine at 10 seconds in the manual Eco trim level, which is tuned for efficiency.

The Cruze features 10 standard airbags: two frontal and two knee airbags for the front occupants, seat-mounted side-impact airbags for all four outboard seats, and a pair of curtains that cover the side windows.

The newest compact C-car from Chevrolet is the Cruze – a globally engineered vehicle designed not just to compete in the growing small-car segment, but to win.

Most notably is the launch of a new turbocharged 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine, designed to deliver the power and driving experience of a larger powerplant with class leading fuel economy. In fact, Chevy claims an ECO model (with a 6-speed manual transmission) will get 40-mpg on the highway. Added benefits of the Z-link suspension include light weight, low cost and compact dimensions, allowing the Cruze to deliver a cavernous trunk volume of 15 cubic feet.

We were impressed with the car’s road holding capabilities without the larger 18-inch wheels, complete with wider, lower profile tires – standard on top-trim LTZ models.

And the Cruze looks like it drives, with a design that’s handsome and that speaks to the vehicle’s size. Technically a mid-size car rather than a compact, due to its spacious interior, the Cruze looks even more impressive when next to the narrow track, tall-bodied competitors.

Base models come well-equipped with power windows, locks, remote entry and AC. We can’t say the interior is high quality, because this is a compact car after all. Improved as the Cruze may be, it still doesn’t deliver the Civic’s driver-oriented feel, although the Cruze was nicer on the highway with less wind noise. The Corolla’s engine/transmission combo was much smoother, although it’s interior and exterior design is lacking considerably when compared to the Chevy.

Which brings us to the Cruze’s price point. Chevy has finally built a compact car to rival the Japanese and they’ve priced it accordingly.

Toyota Avensis Recall

Toyota has voluntarily recalled more than 18,000 cars in the UK to carry out modifications to fuel systems.

Toyota, which also owns Lexus, has recalled the Avensis and IS 250 to carry out modifications to the fuel systems due to fears both models could be at risk of fuel leaks.

The Toyota Avensis issue affects certain 2.0-litre and 2.4-litre petrol models, produced between July 2000 and September 2008.

The problem relates to two potential concerns with the fuel system.
The second Toyota Avensis issue is that the fuel pump check valve may not be fitted tightly enough. If so, both the fuel pipe and fuel pump check valve will have to be replaced.

A statement released by the company said: "As a result of customer feedback in other markets worldwide, Toyota GB today announced it would recall a number of its Toyota Avensis and Lexus IS 250 models in the UK to carry out modifications to their fuel systems.

Approximately 3,100 UK registered Lexus IS 250 petrol engine vehicles, produced between August 2007 and February 2009, are also affected.
Nearly 1.7 million Toyota-made vehicles are being recalled worldwide because of the defects.

2011 Kia Sedona Reviews

2011 Kia Sedona Reviews
The 2011 Kia Sedona minivan comes into three trim levels the Base, LX and EX which suits the diverse needs of different kinds of drivers. Engine Performance

Equipped with a powerful 3.8 liter all-aluminum V6 engine - Kia's biggest engine up to date, the 2011 Kia Sedona does not pale in comparison with other high-profile SUV and "toys for the big boys" out in the market.

Apart from the usual airbags installed such as a dual front advanced airbags, a dual front seat-mounted side airbags and a full-length side curtain airbags, the 2011 Kia Sedona also has a steering-wheel audio remote and a reverse warning system.

2011 Kia Sedona continues to stuff all the essential ingredients of a family vehicle into a value-priced package. The 2011 Sedona’s closest competitor is the GMC Safari Passenger Van. 2011 Sedona measures 194 inches long on a 114.6-inch wheelbase.
The new "2011 Kia Sedona" has power driver’s and passenger seats, tilt headrests, front and rear A/C controls, available leather seat trim and sunroof. Both front seats, offer ratcheting armrests. 2011 Kia Sedona has e versatile cargo (127.5 cubic feet.)For 2011, the Kia Sedona has a revised grille with a larger logo.

Safety and standard features add up to a great value to 2011 Kia sedona. 2011 Kia Sedona is bigger than a Dodge Caravan and comes loaded with popular features.
This ranking is based on our analysis of 41 published reviews and test drives of the Kia Sedona, and our analysis of reliability and safety data--With the recently redesigned Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna on sale, Kia hopes to attract buyers to its competitive Sedona with a new V6 engine and value pricing.

The 2011 Kia Sedona continues to ride on a wave of value. For 2011, the Sedona gets even more competitive with an all-new 3.5-liter V6 engine replacing the old 3.8-liter unit. Reviewers are quick to note the Sedona’s rather athletic handling compared to most minivans on top of its solid list of standard features--When looking at minivans, it’s hard to ignore the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna. Touring models are EPA-rated at 19 mpg city and 28 highway.
The 2011 Kia Sedona is available in two trim levels: LX and EX.

2011 Toyota Sienna Review

The 2011 Toyota Sienna may be the Japanese automaker's third-generation minivan, but Toyota emphasizes that the new Sienna is becoming more carlike than ever. Toyota says the base price of the 2011 Sienna will come in below the current vehicle's $25,000 price point. Competition includes the Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country, the Kia Sedona, the Nissan Quest and the Honda Odyssey.

The 2011 Sienna has new body panels with a more dynamic front end, but it's nothing to draw a flashmob or attract civil disobedience. Inside, the Sienna has adopted the latest Toyota styling theme, with a dramatic arc separating driving controls from secondary and passenger-shared controls. Plastic trim is replaced on some versions by matt woodgrain trim; pricier versions get Optitron gauges like those in some Lexus models.

The "Toyota Sienna is redesigned for 2011", and reviewers agree that it’s a far better minivan than before. No longer stuck behind the Honda Odyssey, the new Sienna takes on the former class leader in dynamics and comfort, while losing the bland styling that marked the previous Sienna. Most reviewers say that the 2011 Sienna is the best minivan on the market.

Muscular and shapely, the new Sienna’s design infuses style into a segment marked by anonymity. Stepping inside the 2011 Sienna reveals an all-new interior as well. The base Sienna is one of the least expensive minivans, but Dodge and Kia also offer minivans at similar starting prices. The Sienna also stands out as the only minivan on the market to offer optional all-wheel drive.

New for 2011 is the sporty SE model. Reviewers generally favor the driving characteristics of the Odyssey over the Sienna, commenting that only the sporty SE Sienna can compete with the Odyssey for road manners.

Falling short dynamically compared to the Sienna and Odyssey, the Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan are viable alternatives to Toyota’s latest minivan effort. While the Sienna was not involved in Toyota’s accelerator pedal recall, some critics have begun to raise questions about Toyota’s quality.

There are five trims available on the 2011 Sienna: base, LE, SE, XLE and Limited. SE models are differentiated by sporty exterior touches, and recalibrated steering and suspension tuning for a sportier driving experience.

Though flawed in a couple key respects, the Sienna's fundamentals are sound. The Sienna comes in five trim levels: base, LE, SE, XLE and Limited.
The Sienna's 36.9-foot turning circle nearly ties Honda (36.7 feet) and beats Chrysler vans' 39.1-foot circles.

Base, LE and XLE models carry 17-inch alloy wheels. The outgoing Sienna's five-speed automatic felt far more responsive. (Yes, even minivans can have cool exhaust notes.) I did not sample a Sienna with all-wheel drive. Toyota's 2.7-liter four-cylinder, of recent Venza and Highlander vintage, comes standard on front-wheel-drive base and LE models. At the L.A. Auto Show, where the Sienna was introduced, I puzzled over the wisdom of offering a four-cylinder on a large minivan. The V-6 Sienna gets a competitive 18/24 mpg with front-wheel drive and 16/22 mpg with all-wheel drive.
