Was sifting through my photos of the
2011 Frankfurt Auto Show and ran across this cellphone pic that I completely forgot about. This image was taken at the end of day one, when the show was officially over and the manufacturers cut loose.
It's a crappy photo (please forgive the weird HDR artifacts at the bottom) but what you're seeing is a woman in the Seat booth apparently being consumed alive by a 12-foot tall white carnation. Mounted atop a giant spring that's anchored to a baseplate, the gory scene flung back and forth like a metronome as onlookers gaped helplessly.

The Highlights of Frankfurt Auto Show
Cars in Frankfurt Auto Show
BMW i3: BMW's electric urban car will be powered by a 125kW motor and be capable of carrying four people.
Audi Urban Concept: Following the official release of a handful of sketches and an unofficial reveal of the camo'd prototype, Audi has put out a brief teaser clip of its Urban Concept ahead of its official reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Frankfurt Auto Show Girls
Most of the models on display at an important international car show are concepts showcasing the technology and design of tomorrow. But sometimes we just need to stop for a moment and appreciate the other kind of model often draped around the cars we love so much. Auto Show Girls are as much staples of a good auto show as the cars themselves.
