toyota corolla 2010 Recall?

Toyota Motor Company has issued a recall on select 2010 Corolla and Matrix models but rather than using the dirty “R word”, Toyota is calling this program a Limited Service Campaign. This Limited Service Campaign affects around 9,400 Corolla models and 1,350 Matrix models, with all of them being powered by Toyota’s 2ZR-FE 1.8L 4-cylinder engine. Doesn’t that sound like a recall?
Not a recall by name, but this 2010 Toyota Corolla and Matrix issue could cause owners major problems
According to Reuters, the 10,750 affected 2010 Corolla and Matrix models may have an issue with the early deterioration and disintegration of the serpentine belt that drives the alternator, air condition compressor and most importantly, the water pump. It is not unusual for serpentine belts to break when left unchecked, as the rubber belts are constantly exposed to extreme temperatures which help to increase the wear and tear on the belt.
Toyota has arranged for a “Limited Service Campaign”, which seems more like a polite word for the ominous “Recall” tag, on select 2010 Corolla and Matrix models to fix an accessory belt issue.
The problem originates in the engine accessory belt which is used to transfer force from the engine to the air conditioner.
There are about 9,400 Corollas that could have the accessory belt issue, and 1,350 Matrix vehicles
